AMY MCNAMARA - Physiotherapist

Amy is a Physiotherapist with over 18 years experience in the disability sector, and is the founding Physiotherapist and Director of KidsPT. She hopes to continue to build a service dedicated to improving the lives of all in our community, especially those living with a disability.  

Amy has worked in Early Childhood Intervention, the education setting (primary and secondary, mainstream and special schools), and equipment assessment and provision through experience in a specialised mobility service.

Amy obtained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 2004 and has been trained in NDT (Neuro-Developmental Therapy). She is registered to provide services under NDIA, Better Start (FaHCSIA), Medicare and Private Health Providers.

Amy has a passion for working with children with a wide variety of delays and disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and other complex physical disabilities. Amy is passionate, dedicated and experienced in working with the family unit, carers and school staff to help problem solve and achieve a child’s mobility, equipment and participation goals. Amy values and prioritises the importance of communication and has developed many relationships with medical staff, particularly at RCH, ensuring a coordinated, holistic service with all involved in the care of the child.

Amy is also passionate about disability services as a whole, as well as perceptions, inclusion and participation of all people with a disability. She hopes to continue to build a service dedicated to improving the lives of all in our community, especially those living with a disability.
